PEDDAPALLI, APRIL 04, 2024: Buoyed over the successful functioning of the SHE teams in the Peddapalli and Mancherial districts of Ramagundam Commissionerate of Police, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police M Srinivas hosted a small party titled “Coffee With She Team Members’ at the Commissionerate office in Ramagundam on Thursday.
The SHE teams of the Commissionerate have conducted 205 awareness programmes to empower the girls and womenfolk. Besides, they also visited and kept a close surveillance at 690 hot spots, arrested 22 persons for resorting to eve-teasing, registered four FIRs following 18 complaints, registration of 11 e-petty cases. The SHE teams also caught the youth causing nuisance and teasing of girl students at SSC and Intermediate examination centres and arrested 22 persons including 13 minors and seized 10 bikes. The police also conducted counselling programmes for the youth and also minors caught for resorting to eve-teasing.
Appreciating the services of the SHE teams, the Commissioner of Police hosted a small party under the title of “Coffee with SHE team members’. He lauded the services of SHE team for their relentless services to check eve-teasing, ragging and other atrocities against women in public places
Appealing the girls and womenfolk to lodge complaints if they encounter any nuisance and harassment, the CP informed the people to dial 100 or lodge complaint through whatsapp number 6303923700 or personally approach the SHE team police. The people can also lodge their complaints through facebook, Instagram and twitter also, he stated.
On this occasion, the CP handed over appreciation certificates to the SHE team members. Additional DCP (admn) Raju, Special branch ACP Raghavendra Rao, Peddapalli SHE team incharge SI Rajendra Prasad, Mancherial SHE team SI Hima, other SHE team members were also present.
