CM Revanth Reddy inquires about incident with resident commissioner of Telangana bhavan in New Delhi
HYDERABAD, JULY 28, 2024: Three UPSC aspirants at Rau’s IAS coaching centre in Old Rajender Nagar in New Delhi drowned when the basement was flooded due heavy rains on Saturday night.
The students killed in flooding at the coaching centre include Shreya Yadav of Ambedkarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Bihar and Navin Dalwin from Ernakulam in Kerala state.
Rau’s IAS study circle, the coaching instituted had falsely shown that the basement of three-storeyed building was being used for parking and as store room. Ironically, the coaching institute converted it into library. Following heavy rains, about 10 to 12 feet level waters flooded the basement killing three students who were stranded in the waters.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy inquired about the incident and spoke to spoke with Gaurav Uppal, the Resident Commissioner of Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, regarding the incident at a coaching centre. The Chief Minister inquired about the details of the incident and whether any residents of Telangana were involved.
The Resident Commissioner informed that none of the victims were from Telangana. Among the deceased was Tania Soni, a young woman from Bihar. Her father, Vijay Kumar, is a Senior Manager at Singareni Collieries Company in Mancherial, Telangana.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the Resident Commissioner to extend necessary assistance to Vijay Kumar’s family on behalf of the state government. The Resident Commissioner also mentioned that the family members are making arrangements to transport Tania Soni’s body to Bihar and assured the Chief Minister that they would provide the required assistance.
