Police seize two knives, a car, a jeep and two motorcycles and six mobile phones
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 05, 2024: The Manakondur police have arrested nine persons involved in the ‘killing’ of a rowdy-sheeter hailing from Pachunuru village of Manakondur mandal. Four others are at large and the police seized two knives, a car, a jeep, two two-wheelers and six mobile phones.
Disclosing this to newsmen on Tuesday night, Karimnagar Rural ACP P Venkataramana said that the rowdy-sheeter Gopu Prashanth Reddy was brutally murdered on May 28. The accused persons attacked Prashanth Reddy in Utoor village and later abducted him to the shores of Manair river in Garrepalli village of Sultanabad and killed him due to old enmity.
There was a land dispute in the village between Maddela Venkatesh and Bandi Sailoo. Prashanth Reddy was supporting Bandi Sailoo and another rowdy-sheeter in the village Nannapaneni Ramesh was supporting Venkatesh. There were several panchayats conducted over the issue and enmity development between the two rowdy-sheeters.
The police arrested Nannapaneni Ramesh, A Saikrishna alias ‘SK Bhai’ of Sultanabad, Tandra Ramesh of Laxmipur village in Mankondur mandal, K Anil of Pachunuru village, Sardar Kuldip Singh alias Karthi of Kisan nagar in Karimnagar town, Ponnala Manohar of Bejjanki in Siddipet district, A Mahesh of Ippalanarasingapur, Huzurabad mandal, K Harish of Kothirampur, Karimnagar town and Vodnala Yagnesh of Pathikuntapalli village in Gangadhara mandal.
Four others are at large including Gaju Shankar of Pachunuru village, S Uday Kumar alias Chintu of Laxmipur in Manakondur mandal, Maddela Venkatesh and Nannapaneni Bhaghyalaxmi. All the arrested have been remanded to judicial custody. The ACP said that they would arrest the remaining four accused and send them to jail. He congratulated Rural Inspector Rajkumar and his team for the detection of crime.
