NEW DELHI, AUGUST 15, 2024: The Union government has curtailed the services of senior IPS office from Andhra Pradesh cadre Mr Nalin Prabhat, Director-General of National Security Guards (NSG) and brought him to the AGMUT cadre.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday sanctioned the inter-state deputation of NSG DG Nalin Prabhat of the Andhra Pradesh cadre to the AGMUT cadre for a tenure of three years.
“The undersigned is directed to convey the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for (i) Curtailment of tenure of Mr Nalin Prabhat, IPS (AP:92) as Director General, National Security Guard(NSG). (ii) Inter-cadre deputation of Mr Nalin Prabhat from Andhra Pradesh to AGMUT Cadre, initially for three years from the date of joining the AGMUT cadre or until further orders, whichever is earlier, in relaxation of inter-cadre deputation guidelines”, according to an official release.
In an official release, the Ministry of Home Affairs said, “It is requested that Mr Nalin Prabhat, DG, NSG may be relieved immediately to enable him to join AGMUT cadre.” It is understood that the IPS officer could be given a new task as DG of Jammu and Kashmir. The AGMUT stands for Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory cadre for which the controlling authority is the MHA.
Mr Nalin Prabhat worked in integrated Karimnagar district as Superintendent of Police from 1998 to 2001 and made his presence felt with the people-friendly policies. He took several measures to curtail Left-wing extremism in the district.
