KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 31, 2024: The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Karimnagar district unit has conducted ‘Nasha Mukth Bharath’ (Drug-Free India) at the KIMS Degree and PG college and Hotel Management in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
As part of the campaign of spreading the message of ‘Nasha Mukth Bharath’ Abhiyaan among the youth, women and students, the Brahma Kumaris, the spiritual leaders, have launched a campaign at KIMS to create a drug-free environment in the country, emphasizing awareness and education about the dangers of the substance abuse. The entire college community has taken a pledge towards eradicating drug addiction and promoting a healthier and safer society.
Brahma Kumaris Medical wing member Dr Uma Rani expressed concern over growing drug abuse among the youth. She said that the consumption of drugs was causing health hazards as it was affecting their brains and entire body thus the future of young India remained bleak with the weaker strength of the younger generation.
District Welfare Officer Saraswathi assured all assistance to the Brahma Kumaris for their crusade for a drug-free India. She also informed the students to distance themselves from drugs and other alcoholic substances as it would affect their bodies and brain.
Brahma Kumaris Karimnagar organizer BK Manisha said that they would be organising rallies from September 2 to 20 in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jagtial, Sircilla, Adilabad, Asifabad, Bellampalli and other regions. She said that they would displaying educational videos and posters to discourage youth from getting addicted to drugs.
KIMS educational institutions vice chairman Saket Rama Rao said that he had visited Mount Abu Brahma Kumaris centre and was inspired by their relentless social service and devotional activities to educate the people. Brahma Kumaris coordinator BK Vijaya, Prakruthi Rehabilitation Centre chairman Kalpana, district child welfare officer P Shantha, retired tahsildar Kesava Reddy and others participated.
