KARIMNAGAR, JULY 15, 2024: Karimnagar Film Society president Ponnam Ravichandra has been unanimously elected as the Assistant General Secretary of Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI), South region, on Sunday.
At the FFSI annual general body meeting conducted Suchitra film society in Bengaluru, Mr Ravichandra was elected unanimously as the assistant general secretary of FFSI south region for a period of three years. FFSSR secretary BSS Prakash Reddy handed over election certificate to Ravichandra.
Ravichandra is a journalist, a film critic and documentary film-maker. His book ‘Prasthanam’ on Indian films has won Nandi award from the integrated Andhra Pradesh state government. His documentary on Paidi Jairaj has several awards in the international film festivals. His recent documentary film on ‘Sardar Sarvai Papanna’ also won accolades.
Karimnagar film society secretary K Laxmi Gautam, film critic H Ramesh Babu, PV Rammohan Rayudu, PS Ravindra, Akshayan president Ayanampudi Srilakshmi, Kanduri Anjaiah, Nandi Srinivas, Gajula Ravinder, KS Anantha Chary, Madishety Gopal, G Nagabhushanam and others congratulated Ravichandra on his appointment.
