
HYDERABAD, MARCH 07, 2025: Officials of the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, conducted a raid on D.P.J Medical and General Stores, located in Abbapuram Village, Mulugu Mandal, Mulugu District, and seized 40 varieties of Physician’s Samples – Not for Sale and Expired Drugs from the premises.

Similarly, the DCA seized Medos-AT Capsules (Methylcobalamin, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folic Acid, Vitamin B1 & B6 Capsules) in Ramagundam, Peddapalli District, which were falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of ‘food products/nutraceuticals’.
In an official release here on Friday, DCA Director-General VB Kamalasan Reddy said that, acting on credible information, the officials raided a medical shop named D.P.J Medical and General Stores, situated at Sriramulapalle, Abbapuram Village, Mulugu Mandal, Mulugu District. During the raid, DCA officers found 40 varieties of Physician’s Samples-Not for Sale and Expired Drugs, including antiulcer drugs, cough and cold formulations, antifungal drugs, etc., stocked alongside saleable drugs on the racks of the medical shop. Drugs worth a total of Rs. 35,000/- were seized. J. Kiran Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Bhupalpally i/c carried out the raid.
Seizure of drugs falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of ‘food products/nutraceuticals’ in Peddapalli
The DCA officials detected drugs falsely manufactured and sold under the guise of ‘food products/nutraceuticals’. The officials in Ramagundam, Peddapalli District, have detected the product Medos-AT Capsules (Methylcobalamin, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Folic Acid, Vitamin B1 & B6 Capsules) circulating in the market. The product was found to be manufactured by Yash Nutraceuticals, Ahmedabad, Gujarat and marketed by Rhon-Poule Life Science, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
The said product was falsely manufactured under a ‘food license (FSSAI license)’ and falsely claimed to be a food product/nutraceutical. According to the label composition of the product, it is classified as a drug under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
The product must be manufactured only under a ‘drug licence’ issued under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, adhering strictly to the ‘Good Manufacturing Practices’ (GMP) outlined in Schedule M of the Drugs Rules. Additionally, it must meet the quality standards prescribed in the ‘Indian Pharmacopoeia’ (IP) as mandated. P. Shravan Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Peddapalli, carried out the raid.
The DCA DG said the public may report any suspected manufacturing activity related to drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas, as well as any other complaints regarding illegal activities concerning medicines, through the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana Toll-Free Number 1800-599-6969, which is operational from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.
