JAGTIAL, JUNE 19, 2026: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) inaugurated its District Development Office at Jagtial on Friday, marking a significant step towards strengthening agricultural and rural development initiatives in the district. The office was inaugurated by Mr B. Uday Bhaskar, Chief General Manager (CGM), NABARD, Telangana Regional Office, Hyderabad.
The programme was attended by C. Sunil Chittampali, AGM, NABARD, M. Dileep Chandra, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, Jagtial, senior officials from various government departments, bankers, representatives of NGOs, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and other stakeholders.
Among the dignitaries present were Bhaskar, District Agriculture Officer; Manoj Kumar, District Cooperative Officer; Suresh Babu, District Fisheries Officer; Yadagiri, General Manager, District Industries Centre; Ram Kumar, Lead District Manager; Bapu, Director, RSETI; N Satyanarayana Rao, CEO, DCCB; Raja Narendra, Regional Manager, Telangana Grameena Bank; Chief Manager, State Bank of India, and representatives of various development institutions.
Welcoming the gathering, M. Dileep Chandra, DDM, NABARD, stated that the establishment of a dedicated NABARD office in Jagtial would facilitate closer engagement with farmers, rural institutions, banks and government departments. He expressed confidence that the office would further accelerate the implementation of development programmes and contribute to the overall socio-economic progress of the district.
Addressing the gathering, B. Uday Bhaskar, CGM, NABARD, highlighted NABARD’s efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture, rural infrastructure and livelihood development. He called upon banks to ensure timely credit support to farmers and rural entrepreneurs and emphasised the need for crop diversification through greater adoption of technology, horticulture and allied sectors.
On the occasion, CGM handed over the sanction letter for procurement of a drone under the RuTAG Smart Village Centre (RSVC) sanctioned to Beerpur PACS. He stated that the centre would facilitate the introduction of innovative technologies and modern farm practices, benefiting farmers across the district.

He also outlined NABARD’s support for strengthening cooperative institutions and PACS through initiatives such as the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan, solar power projects financed through concessional loans and other rural infrastructure interventions. He noted that such initiatives would enhance the capacity and sustainability of rural institutions.
Highlighting livelihood promotion activities, he referred to NABARD-supported entrepreneurship and skill development programmes, including a Premium Flower Garland Making Training Programme for 30 SHG women in Jagtial district and a Dairy Value Addition Project in Pegadapalli mandal. He interacted with the beneficiaries and encouraged them to leverage these opportunities for sustainable income generation.
Emphasising the importance of allied sectors, CGM stressed the need to promote dairy and inland fisheries alongside agriculture to enhance farmers’ incomes and strengthen the rural economy. He assured that NABARD would continue to support innovative and need-based interventions for the development of agriculture and allied sectors in the district.
He further informed that NABARD’s activities in Jagtial were earlier coordinated through the Karimnagar Cluster Office and expressed confidence that the establishment of a separate district office would further strengthen developmental outreach and stakeholder engagement.
The district officials and bankers present on the occasion welcomed the establishment of the NABARD office in Jagtial and appreciated NABARD’s continued contribution towards rural development, institutional strengthening and enhanced credit flow in the district.
