KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 06, 2026: Students of Paradise High School, Rekurthi, Karimnagar town, paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof Kothapalli Jayashankar on his birth anniversary on Thursday.
St George International School and Paradise High School chairman P Fatima Reddy paid floral tributes to the portrait of Jayashankar and observed two minutes of silence as a mark of respect. Recalling the key role played by former Vice Chancellor of Kakatiya University in the Telangana statehood movement, he said that the people of Telangana will forever remember Professor Jayashankar’s invaluable contribution during the Telangana movement and the formation of a separate state of Telangana.
Mr Fatima Reddy described Jayashankar as a towering personality who lived and fought for Telangana until he breathed his last. He praised the Telangana ideologue for dedicating his entire life for Telangana statehood.
He also noted that it was Jayashankar who kept the movement for separate Telangana alive for six decades by articulating the injustice faced by the region and the discrimination endured by its people with statistical evidence to the nation. The ideological strength and Jayashankar’s direction during the Telangana struggle remain unforgettable and affirmed that the people’s government is committed to realising his ideals. Paradise School principal T Vasantha, vice principal A Madhu and others were also present.
