​KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 06, 2026: Various colleges and departments of Satavahana University in Karimnagar town paid rich tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar, the guiding force of the statehood movement, on Thursday.
At the main administrative building: The event was organised under the leadership of University Registrar Prof. Satish Kumar Peddapally, Controller of Examinations D. Suresh Kumar, and Assistant Registrar Y Kishore, alongside administrative staff. Floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Prof. Jayashankar, with speakers recalling his pivotal role in articulating the vision for a separate Telangana state.
​At University College of Commerce & Business Management: Principal N. Srirangaprasad, OSD to the VC Harikanth, and NSS Programme Officer Thirupathi, along with staff and students, paid rich floral tributes to Prof. Jayashankar, praising his lifelong dedication to the cause of Telangana statehood and economic self-reliance.
​University College of Science (NSS Unit): Under NSS Unit, a tribute program was held at the University College of Science led by Principal Ramakanth, Sarasija, NSS Programme Officer Vijay Kumar, and staff. They highlighted how Prof. Jayashankar’s educational and political philosophy inspired generations to work toward statehood.
​University College of Arts & Law: Principal K. Padmavathi and Vice-Principal Mohd. Abrarul Baqui, along with faculty members and students, observed the day in a befitting manner. University Pharmacy College principal Srishailam, along with staff, observed.
