National Workshop on Digital Technologies & Pedagogy Inaugurated at EFLU

HYDERABAD, JUNE 22, 2026: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, inaugurated the two-day National Workshop on “Digital Technologies and Pedagogy: Practical Approaches and Ethical Frameworks” today. The workshop is being jointly organized by the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi and the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), EFLU bringing together teachers, researchers, and educational practitioners to explore the opportunities and challenges presented by digital technologies in contemporary education.

In his inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director, Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi, observed that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence is transforming the educational landscape in unprecedented ways. From teaching and learning to assessment and academic administration, AI is reshaping pedagogical practices, creating new opportunities while simultaneously raising important ethical concerns. He noted that the workshop seeks to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of these developments and equip them with the practical skills and critical perspectives necessary for integrating AI into educational contexts.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. N. Nagaraju, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of EFLU, highlighted the growing importance of digital technologies in higher education and emphasised the need for educational institutions to engage proactively with emerging AI tools while maintaining a strong commitment to academic values, critical thinking, and ethical responsibility.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. G. B. Reddy, Vice Chancellor of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, reflected on the changing nature of pedagogy in the digital era and argued for a recalibration of educational approaches to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technological environments. He stressed the importance of balancing technological innovation with human-centred learning and pedagogical effectiveness.

The inaugural session was attended by Prof. T. T. Sreekumar, Director i/c, EMRC, EFLU; Ms. Sini Manchala, Registrar, EFLU; and Dr. Sunil Mehru, Joint Director (SW), Consortium for Educational Communication, along with Dr. Rajaram, OSD to VC, faculty members, researchers, and participants from various institutions.

Over the course of two days, the workshop will address a wide range of themes including learner engagement in online and hybrid classrooms, the use of AI in blended learning environments, digital assessment practices, the pedagogical integration of AI tools, and practical strategies for implementing AI-enabled educational technologies in teaching, curriculum design, instructional planning, and learner support systems.
