KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 09, 2026: The Karimnagar District Congress Committee leaders observed the 84th Quit India anniversary by hoisting the party flag at Indira Bhavan (Congress party office) in Karimnagar town on Sunday.
DCC Karimnagar Corporation president Vaidhyla Anjan Kumar hoisted the party flag and paid tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by garlanding his portrait and hailed the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters. Mr Anjan Kumar said that the Quit India Movement was launched under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi on August 9, 1942, and gave a decisive impetus to India’s quest for Independence.
He said that the Quit India Movement infused new energy in the freedom struggle and reflected the unwavering determination of people to break free from British colonial rule. August 9, 2026, marks the 84th anniversary of the Quit India Movement, one of the defining milestones in the nation’s freedom struggle.
DCC leaders Komatireddy Padmakar Reddy, Alphores Educational Institutions chairman V Narender Reddy, Mahila Congress president Karra Satya Prasanna Reddy, former district Seva Dal chairman Mustaq Ahmed, former Karimnagar urban bank chairman Karra Rajashekhar and others participated in the programme.
