JAGTIAL, JULY 23, 2024: Students of Alphores e-techno school, Jagtial, celebrated the ‘Bonalu’ festival with religious fervour and gaiety on their school campus on Tuesday.
Frenzied atmosphere prevailed with a riot of colour, customs, traditions and dance as part of the celebrations. The girl students arrived in their traditional attire and carried ‘Bonam’ on their heads and their procession was led by Potharajus amid drum beats.
Festive atmosphere prevailed on the school premises which was decorated with mango and neem leaves and the students danced to the traditional ‘bonalu’ festival songs. The special attraction was the ‘puli vesham’ (donning role of tiger) by the boys who had captivated the audience with their performance.
Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy had formally launched the celebrations by offering prayers to the Goddess. He educated the students the importance of celebrating bonalu festival which is part and parcel of only the Telangana state.
