TIRUMALA, JULY 25, 2026: Following the reports circulating on social media regarding the temporary white appearance of water from taps at the Sri Japali Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Tirumala, TTD officials on Saturday confirmed the phenomenon is caused by microscopic air bubbles introduced when water is released under high pressure.
The aeration makes the water appear cloudy momentarily; video evidence shows the water returning to its normal clear state within a few seconds.
Experts emphasize this is a physical effect and not indicative of contamination.
Water samples were submitted to the TTD Food and Water Analysis Laboratory for evaluation. Laboratory tests confirmed the water is clean and safe for use, with no foul odour, sediment, or visible impurities detected.
TTD urges devotees and the public not to share or amplify unverified information on social media and assures everyone there is no cause for concern regarding the quality of water at the temple.
