

Actively participate in making lemonade health drink to beat the heat

HYDERABAD, APRIL 07, 2025: World Health Day is a global health awareness day, celebrated every year on April 7. The day is observed to mark the founding of the WHO. This year, the theme is “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures”.
Accordingly, the Tiny Tots of Sister Nivedita, The Play School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrated World Health Day on Monday to create awareness about the benefits of healthy living and to spread knowledge about the value of good health. It is necessary to make each individual aware that “Health is Wealth.” We need to recognize that keeping ourselves healthy is an important component of our lives. Keeping oneself fit and safe is important with so many diseases prevailing in the world.
The students of Junior and Senior Discoverers had a 200-meter run on the school campus. The principal of the school Dr T Lalitha Kumari declared the run by raising the school flag, despite the scorching heat. Children had fun running in tracks and reaching the ending point. Children were encouraged to develop healthy eating habits, exercise, and play outdoors instead of playing video games.
Spoon of sugar, a pinch of salt, squeeze the lemon, sieve the seeds, pour some water. Your glass of fresh and tangy lemonade is ready. With the onset of summer, it is essential to get refreshed by drinking cool beverages to beat the heat.
On this occasion of World Health Day, a lemonade activity was organised on the premises of The Play School. “Squeeze the day and make it sweet with lemonade.” Lemonade is the best way to quench a summer thirst. The fun-filled bonanza started with setting up a lemonade stall in the school premises.
The children were explained the procedure of making lemonade. They prepared fresh lemonade with the help of their teachers. To enhance the taste, salt and mint were added to it. This healthy drink was relished by all the children. This activity not only quenched their thirst but also educated them about the health benefits of lemonade. The lemonade tickled their taste buds on sipping it up. The main objective behind this refreshing activity was to make the students aware of the importance of drinking lemonade in summer while avoiding soft drinks and other packaged fruit juices available in the market.
The children cheerfully enjoyed the refreshing, cool sip with their friends. They enjoyed drinking the deliciously hydrating drink and had a great day. It fostered a sense of teamwork, introduced basic culinary skills, and encouraged healthy eating habits. This activity provides children with a comprehensive learning experience that fosters cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development while promoting practical life skills.
The Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, applauded the little ones’ small efforts and appreciated the teachers’ skillful planning of the event. She emphasized that taking care of our health is important for our well-being and happiness and encouraged children to make healthy choices every day. She also expressed that Lemonade is a rich source of vitamin C and minerals that makes us healthy and energized.
The Chairman of the school, Dr Sudhakar Rao Polsani, the Correspondent of the school Rtn. Hari Hara Prasad emphasized the importance of good health and extended their best wishes to all students on the occasion of World Health Day.
