RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, JUNE 21, 2026: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College (TGSWRDCW), Vemulawada, Rajanna-Sircilla district, celebrated International Yoga Day with a spirit of health and mindfulness under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) on Sunday.
Students, teachers and staff gathered for a yoga session to promote physical and mental well-being. They actively participated in the event and performed various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices.
Under the guidance of faculty members and the physical director, students practised different yoga postures such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, and other asanas. The importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness and mental well-being was highlighted through demonstrations and awareness sessions. A few students also presented special yoga performances, which received appreciation from the audience.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal P. S. R. Sharma stated that yoga is an invaluable gift from India to the world and encouraged students to make yoga a part of their daily routine for a healthy lifestyle. Vice Principal K. Lavanya emphasised that regular yoga practice enhances concentration, boosts self-confidence, and helps in stress management.

The programme was attended by NSS Council Member S. Sandhya Rani, ACO B. Sumalatha, Head of the Department of Chemistry Nirmala Hrudaya, Physical Director Anusha, Health Supervisor P. Sumalatha, and other faculty members. A large number of students participated in the event and pledged to incorporate yoga into their daily lives.

“Health through Yoga – Happiness through Health.”
