All 39 passengers escaped unhurt
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 21, 2026: Commuters of a TGSRTC electric bus bound for Hyderabad had a providential escape after a fire broke out in the vehicle near LMD colony on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Sunday.
The electric bus started from Karimnagar bus station, and after it crossed Alugunuru, the smoke emanated from the bus. The alert driver took the bus to the side of the road and forced all 39 commuters to alight the bus along with their belongings. After the passengers deboarded the bus, it was engulfed in fire. The bus was completely gutted in the fire by the time the fire tender rushed to the spot.
The passengers heaved a sigh of relief as they had escaped from a major mishap. The authorities suspect a technical problem in the electric fire, which is also suspected to be an electric short circuit.
