Near real-time data collection for Anganwadi Services facilitated
Supportive Supervision module developed as a dedicated digital platform in the Poshan Tracker application; Data accuracy in Poshan Tracker further improved
NEW DELHI, AUGUST 05, 2026: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) has launched the ‘Poshan Tracker’ digital application, an ICT based tool, for monitoring and reviewing the nutrition outcomes; stunting, wasting, and under-weight prevalence among children under 5 years of age and other services under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0). The year-wise information on beneficiary coverage under the Mission is available at the Poshan Tracker public dashboard: https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics.
To review the progress of the Mission digitally, Poshan Tracker has facilitated near-real-time data collection for Anganwadi Services such as opening of AWCs, daily attendance of children, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities, Growth Monitoring of children, distribution of Hot Cooked Meal (HCM) and Take-Home Ration (THR), etc. Poshan Tracker helps in generating data as required, providing feedback to the implementing authorities and documenting the impact of the scheme to make effective and timely interventions and facilitating continuous evaluation of the programme.
Data accuracy in Poshan Tracker is further improved through the Supportive Supervision module, which has been developed as a dedicated digital platform in the Poshan Tracker application. This feature is specifically designed to enhance effective real-time monitoring at all administrative levels (Supervisor, CDPO, and DPO), to improve overall effectiveness of the programme.
Under Mission Poshan 2.0, 1,29,415 Anganwadi Centres have been upgraded to Saksham Anganwadis in the last five years.
Further, under the Mission, there is a provision of a set of 4 Growth Monitoring Devices (GMDs) (Infantometer and Stadiometer for length and height measurement, Weighing Scale-Infant and Weighing Scale-Mother & Child for weight measurement) at all Anganwadi Centres (AWC) in the country for regular growth measurement of all registered beneficiaries. The data entry on the Poshan Tracker application of all indicators, including growth measurement, is done by the Anganwadi Workers using smartphones along with data recharge facility, provisioned under the Mission. Funds for Growth Monitoring Devices are also released by the Central Government on a cost-sharing basis to all the States and UTs.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, in the Rajya Sabha in reply to a question.
