RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 05, 2026: The NSS unit and Women Empowerment Cell of Government Degree College (GDC), Sircilla, jointly organised Ashada month Mehendi Celebrations on Wednesday.
As part of the celebration, students collected fresh henna leaves, prepared natural mehendi paste, and applied beautiful designs on their hands. The activity created awareness among students about the cultural and medicinal importance of mehendi during the Ashada month.

On this occasion, the Principal, Prof. T. Shankar, addressed the students and explained that henna is a natural medicine that helps protect the skin, especially during the Ashada season. He emphasised the importance of preserving traditional cultural practices and encouraged students to value and promote Indian heritage.
The programme was attended by Vice Principal T. Lavanya, NSS Programme Officer K. Sharada, Women Empowerment Cell Coordinator M. Shobharani, KY Karuna, teaching and non-teaching faculty members, and a large number of students.
The programme was conducted successfully with active participation and enthusiasm from the students.
