JAGTIAL, AUGUST 05, 2026: The Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, organised Aashada Mehendi Celebrations on Wednesday under the auspices of the NSS and the Health Club.
As part of the programme, the students collected fresh henna leaves from the mehendi plant on the college campus, ground them into a fine paste, and beautifully applied it to their hands. Â The girl students designed different mehendi patterns on their palms and celebrated the event with joy.
On this occasion, Health Club Coordinator Ms. Neeraja explained the medicinal and therapeutic benefits of henna, stating that applying henna during the rainy season helps protect the skin from various skin-related infections and diseases due to its natural healing properties.
The programme was attended by In-charge Principal Prof. Pramod Kumar, Vice Principal Chandrayya, NSS Programme Officers N Sangeetha Rani, Srilatha, and Sujatha, Health Club Coordinator  Neeraja, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students, who actively participated and made the event a grand success.
