SIDDIPET, AUGUST 05, 2026: A Cyber Crime Awareness Programme was successfully organised at Kaveri University in collaboration with the Siddipet Police Commissionerate to educate students and faculty members about the growing threats of cybercrime and the importance of online safety.
The programme was addressed by Mr. D. Ravi Raj, Circle Inspector, Gajwel, Mr. Datthathreya, Circle Inspector, Cyber Crime, Siddipet, Mr. J. Aarogyam, Sub-Inspector of Police, Gouraram, and Mr. Md. Younus, Sub-Inspector of Police, Markook. The officers created awareness among the participants about various cyber frauds and shared practical measures to protect themselves from online scams.
On the occasion, Kaveri University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. V. Praveen Rao urged students to remain vigilant while using digital platforms and emphasized the importance of cyber awareness in today’s technology-driven world. He encouraged students to become responsible digital citizens by adopting safe online practices.

The officers explained various cyber frauds, including:
– Online cheating and digital frauds
– OTP and bank account scams
– UPI payment frauds
– Fake customer care number scams
– Fake KYC update frauds
– Social media frauds
– QR code scams
They also advised participants to follow essential cyber safety practices:
– Use strong and unique passwords
– Enable two-factor authentication
– Regularly update mobile applications
– Download applications only from official app stores
– Never open unknown links or suspicious messages
Kaveri University and Registrar Dr. B. Srinivasulu, Director Dr. Harsha Polsani and Deans of various schools of participated in the programme. They appreciated the Siddipet Police Commissionerate for organizing this valuable awareness initiative for the benefit of students and faculty members.
The interactive session received an excellent response from students and faculty. The programme concluded with a call to remain alert against cyber threats and work together towards building a safe and secure digital society.
