MCK can take measures to conserve water by taking up repairs of all leakages in water pipelines
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 24, 2026: Leaking water pipes are resulting in a host of problems for the residents of Karimnagar town. Despite the fact that MCK authorities are well versed with the situation, no steps have been initiated to date to repair the pipes in various parts of the town.
A drinking water pipeline was damaged a month ago in Bhagathnagar locality in front of EBS apartment on the road leading to Arvintree School, wasting precious water during the crisis period following the prevailing drought conditions and depleting groundwater table and no inflows into the Lower Manair Dam reservoir, the main source of drinking water.
The precious filtered water is flowing into the road and drain following the water pipe leakages. Because of leaking water pipes, residents are forced to use contaminated water, resulting in various diseases such as jaundice, hepatitis and other waterborne diseases. The local residents have brought the matter to the notice of MCK authorities and the municipal corporator of 11th division time and again, but no steps have been initiated to plug the leakages of the water pipeline.
A water supply pipe is leaking under the pedestrian path and causing great inconvenience to residents as the water is getting accumulated on the road, which causes a waste of water.
The students visiting the school and the residents were facing umpteen woes to cross the stagnated road due to the leakage of the water pipeline. The MCK should address the issue and take necessary measures at the earliest to stop the leakage and save the water for future requirements.
If the MCK authorities check the leakages of the pipeline in the entire Karimnagar town, it could check the wastage of water and conserve the water for future needs.
