KARIMNAGAR, JULY 14, 2026: The Karimnagar One town police recovered 31 lost mobile phones worth Rs 12 lakhs and returned them to their rightful owners, highlighting the growing role of technology and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) in tracing missing devices.
At a programme organised at Karimnagar One Town police on Tuesday, ACP Venkatswamy handed over the mobile phones to owners. On this occasion, he said that the phones were traced using technical surveillance and CEIR, which enables investigators to track mobile phones through IMEI numbers even if the SIM card is changed. Inspector Ramchander Rao and others were also present.
