SIGNIFICANCE OF RATHA YATRA
The Jagannatha Ratha Yatra symbolises Lord Jagannatha’s boundless mercy as He comes out of the temple to bless everyone. Srila Prabhupada, Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, taught: “One who sees Lord Jagannatha on His Ratha is freed from the cycle of rebirth.”
Since its inception in 1976 by Srila Prabhupada himself, ISKCON Abids has organised this festival every year, making it one of the largest and longest-running Ratha Yatras in the twin states.
