HUSNABAD, JULY 10, 2026: Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar and Minister for Mines G Vivek Venkat Swamy participated in the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of Satavahana University College of Engineering buildings for Rs 29 crore in Ummapur village of Husnabad mandal on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the University College of Engineering started functioning from this academic year (2026-27) in Husnabad and added that they would ensure that the hostel building would be constructed by the time the students enter the second year of their course. Accordingly, the Satavahana University had accorded administrative sanction for the release of Rs 15 crore for the construction of a hostel building, they said and added that they would also lay the foundation stone for the construction of a hostel building very soon.
Later, they distributed laptops and bicycles to the students. They reiterated that they would develop the University engineering college on par with corporate engineering colleges by providing all amenities and infrastructure for the benefit of students to excel in their chosen career. SU vice chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar, registrar Satish Kumar, Munnuru Kapu corporation chairman Bomma Sriram Chakravarthy, police commissioner Reshmi Perumal, Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran, municipal chairperson Dandi Laxmi, vice chairperson Chitthari Padma and others were also present.
