HYDERABAD, AUGUST 02, 2026: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) today witnessed enthusiastic participation across its Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Shillong campuses in the nationwide Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, which was addressed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. The University community joined the national initiative with a shared commitment to promoting a drug-free, healthy and responsible society.
The Vice-Chancellor of The English and Foreign Languages University, Prof. N. Nagaraju, led the University’s participation, bringing together students, research scholars, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and other stakeholders from all three campuses. The programme reflected the University’s collective resolve to support the Government of India’s vision of building a Nasha Mukti Bharat through awareness, education and community engagement.
Addressing the University community, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Nagaraju called upon all stakeholders to become ambassadors of the movement by fostering awareness against substance abuse and encouraging healthy, value-based lifestyles within families, educational institutions and society at large. He appealed to every member of the EFLU fraternity to contribute actively towards realising the vision of a drug-free India as envisaged by the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
Members of the University participated in the live address of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening awareness, prevention and community outreach initiatives against substance abuse. The programme underscored the pivotal role of educational institutions in shaping socially responsible citizens and creating an environment that promotes physical, mental and emotional well-being.
The programme witnessed the active participation of the Registrar, Ms. Sini Manchala, the Proctor, Academic Deans, Administrative Deans, the Directors of the Shillong and Lucknow Campuses, senior faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staff, research scholars, students, and other stakeholders of the University.
