Victim’s son-in-law and grandson are prime accused
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 29, 2026: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have unraveled the mystery behind the sensational dacoity in Bhagathnagar locality in Karimnagar town with the arrest of three persons in Meerut and recovery of Rs 2.09 cash, 43.67 grams of gold and 64.98 grams of silver on Wednesday.
Within one week, the police cracked the case with the arrest of accused persons in Meerut of Uttar Pradesh state. Â It may be recalled that the dacoity took place on July 22 in the early hours when the accused persons entered the house of Md Ajmath Ali and threatened the inmates with dummy pistols and knives and escaped with the booty.
Following a complaint, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam constituted special teams and launched an investigation by examining the CCTV footage; they found that the accused had escaped with stolen two-wheelers towards Huzurabad and left the vehicles at Papaiahpalli.
The Karimnagar police reached Meerut and arrested three persons, viz Salman alias Bhure alias Yadav (22), a fruit business, Salman alias Viman (22), a labourer and Mohammed Haseen (19), all hailing from Meerut and recovered Rs 2.09 cash, 43.67 grams of gold and 64.98 grams of silver on Wednesday.
During the interrogation, it was found that the victim’s own son-in-law, Rajauddin (A1) and grandson Ajeem Raja (A2), the main accused in the dacoit case, were at large. A murder case and other criminal cases were registered against Rajauddin.
Following the family disputes, Rajauddin’s wife returned to Karimnagar from Meerut and stayed with her father. The main accused came to Karimnagar and tried to take her wife to Meerut, but when he failed, he returned to Meerut. Later, he again came to Karimnagar and made a suicide bid at his in-laws house, who had provided him treatment and kept him at their house.
The in-laws provided financial assistance to start a cloth business. However, following losses in the business, he again approached the in-laws and demanded money and harassed his wife and in-laws. When he demanded Rs 5 lakh stating that he was starting a new business in Mancherial, the in-laws refused to give money. Irked over this, he returned to Meerut with the victim’s car.
During the stay at his in-laws’ house, the accused had observed the storing of cash, gold and silver ornaments. He informed the same to his son Ajeem Raja and three others of Meerut and planned the robbery. Accordingly, they boarded the train and reached Ramagundam on July 21 and reached the house of the victim in Bhagathnagar along with dummy pistols and knives and conducted the offence during the wee hours of July 22.
The main accused Rajauddin and Ajeem Raja are absconding, and the police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
