TIRUMALA, JULY 17, 2026: The Anivara Asthanam was observed in a traditional and devotional manner at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Friday.
HH Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, and TTD Executive Officer Sri Muddada Ravichandra participated in the sacred ceremony.
Significance of Anivara Asthanam
Anivara Asthanam is observed every year on Karkataka Sankranti, marking the beginning of Dakshinayana. Traditionally, it also marks the commencement of the temple’s annual financial accounts. Though TTD now follows the April–March financial year, the age-old custom is still observed with great sanctity.
In the evening, Sri Malayappa Swamy and His consorts will bless devotees on Pushpa Pallaki along the four Mada Streets.
TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Board Members Sri Bhanu Prakash Reddy and Sri Divakar Reddy, CVSO Sri Muralikrishna, District SP Sri Subbarayudu, Temple Deputy EO Sri Lokanatham, and other officials were also present.
