HYDERABAD, JULY 30, 2026: The 11th All India Police Judo Cluster Championship 2026, hosted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) under the aegis of the All-India Police Sports Control Board (AIPSCB), concluded today with a closing ceremony held at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Shri C. V. Anand, IPS, Director General of Police (HoPF), Telangana, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Vijay Prakash, IPS, ADG/HQrs, CISF, Mr. Sambandan S., IPS (representing DIB), Smt. Harpreet Kaur, Director, NISA, Hyderabad, AIPSCB officials, and State dignitaries also attended the event.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Shri C. V. Anand, IPS, congratulated the organisers for the flawless conduct of the Championship, which brought together 36 teams representing State Police Forces and Central Armed Police Forces from across the country. He observed that such sporting events go beyond medals by strengthening national integration and fostering bonds of brotherhood among the forces. The Chief Guest presented trophies to the winning contingents and congratulated all the overall trophy winners—SSB as Champions, CISF as Runners-up and ITBP as the third-placed team—as well as all individual medallists for their outstanding performances. Announcing that Telangana Police would host All India Police competitions in Hyderabad over the next two years, he said that India, under the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is emerging as a global sporting powerhouse. He appealed to police personnel to make sports and fitness an integral part of their daily lives, stating that physically and mentally fit officers serve the nation more effectively.
Highlighting the sporting achievements of police forces across the country, Mr. Sambandan S., IPS (representing DIB), commended the exemplary conduct of the Championship and appreciated the growing athletic excellence within the uniformed services. He made special mention of the 11 police personnel who represented India at the Paris Olympics, the 109 medals won in the 2025–26 National Championships, and the 613 medals secured at the 2025 World Police and Fire Games. He also announced that India will host the 2029 World Police and Fire Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking another milestone in the sporting journey of the nation’s security forces.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vijay Prakash, IPS, ADG/ HQrs, CISF, congratulated all the winning teams and medallists and encouraged athletes who did not secure medals to view the experience as a stepping stone towards future success. He said that the same hands that stand ready to protect the nation’s borders and critical infrastructure are capable of winning gold medals for India, and expressed confidence that many of the players would go on to represent the country at the Asian Games, the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. He further noted that CISF had recently completed its largest-ever sports recruitment drive, inducting 332 athletes, including 179 women, into the Force.
As per the points system, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) emerged as the Overall Champions of the Championship with 24 Gold, 20 Silver and 23 Bronze medals, securing 203 points. CISF finished as Runners-up with 25 Gold, 16 Silver and 25 Bronze medals (198 points), while the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) secured the third position with 10 Gold, 21 Silver and 26 Bronze medals (139 points). The Championship, held from 23 to 30 July 2026, brought together around 1,600 athletes and officials representing 36 Central and State Police organisations, of which 28 organisations secured at least one medal. A total of 470 medals, comprising 119 Gold, 119 Silver and 232 Bronze medals, were awarded across five disciplines.
The discipline-wise results are as follows:
– Judo: Champions – SSB; Runners-up – BSF; Third – Uttar Pradesh Police.
– Wushu: Champions – SSB; Runners-up – CRPF; Third – ITBP.
– Taekwondo (Men): Champions – CISF; Runners-up – BSF; Third – Uttar Pradesh Police.
– Taekwondo (Women): Champions – Uttar Pradesh Police; Runners-up – CISF; Third – Assam Rifles.
– Pencak Silat: Champions – CISF; Runners-up – SSB; Third – Maharashtra.
– Karate: Champions – Assam Rifles; Runners-up – ITBP; Third – CISF.
With the successful conclusion of the 11th All India Police Judo Cluster Championship 2026, CISF extended its felicitations to all medal winners and expressed gratitude to all participating organisations, officials and support staff for their invaluable contribution towards the successful conduct of the Championship.
