KTR calls upon people to launch agitations against Congress government for its anti-peoples policies

KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 29, 2024: BRS working president and former Minister K Taraka Rama Rao has called upon the people to launch another agitation on the lines of the statehood movement against the alleged anti-people policies of the Congress government.

Mr Rama Rao was participating in the Deeksha Diwas celebrations at Alugunur on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Friday, from where the police arrested TRS founder president K Chandrashekhar Rao on November 29, 2009, when he announced to fast unto death for the formation of Telangana state and shifted him to Khammam district. Mr KCR planned to launch fast unto death in Siddipet town.

Earlier, the BRS rank and file accorded a tumultuous welcome to BRS working president Rama Rao by taking out a bike rally and presenting him with a giant garland using cranes.  Various forms of cultural troupes had also welcomed the BRS working president.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rama Rao alleged that the Congress party had betrayed the people of the Telangana state by making false promises and attaining power. Stating that the Congress government was on the verge of collapse as the people would revolt against it, he called upon the people to launch another agitation against the anti-people policies of the Congress government.

Within one year, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is facing the wrath of the people, he said and flayed the Congress government for conducting one-year celebrations without any great performances and facing the wrath of the people. He reminded that the Telangana had become a reality only because of TRS founder K Chandrashekhar Rao since the advent of the party in 2001.

Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, former Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash, former MLAs Sunke Ravishankar and Rasamayi Balakishan, former ZP chairperson K Vijaya, Mayor Y Sunil Rao, former Mayor S Ravinder Singh, former SUDA chairman GV Ramakrishna Rao, BRS town president Challa Harishankar and others were also present.
