Sets a target of producing daily 2.3 lakh tonnes of coal in next two months
HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 02, 2024: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited, which has set a target of producing 70 million tonnes of coal during this financial year, has geared up its machinery to achieve the targeted coal production in the coming two months period.
Accordingly, SCCL chairman and managing director N Balaram instructed the officials to take measures to maintaining the coal production at 2.3 lakh tonnes per day to produce 140 lakh tonnes of coal in next two months to achieve the target of 70 million tonnes of coal during this year.
He instructed the officials to take measures to increase the production in Bhupalpally, Mandamarri and Srirampur areas so that the coal production could be maintained.
In the first 10 months of the financial year, the company had set a target of 56.7 million tonnes of coal production and managed to produce 56.3 million tonnes, he said, adding that 57.23 million tonnes of coal transportation was done against the set target of 56.7 million tonnes. About 344 million cubic meters of overburden has been removed so far this year, which was 4 percent higher than last year, he informed.
He also reviewed the progress of Naini coal block in Odisha state, VK coal mine in Kothagudem, Goleti OCP in Bellampalli and JK OCP in Illendu areas which all together have capacity to produce 19.80 million tonnes of coal. SCCL Directors D Satyanarayana Rao, NVK Srinivas, G Venkateshwar Reddy, ED coal movement J Allwyn, GM (coordination) M Suresh, GMs J Ramesh, J Devender and others were also present.
