KCR’s niece is Congress party aspirant from Karimnagar Parliament Constituency

KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 03, 2024: Telangana former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s niece is an aspirant for the Congress party to contest from Karimnagar parliament constituency in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Regulapati Ramya Rao, daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s brother, who joined Congress along with her son Ritish Rao immediately after announcement of separate Telangana state in 2014, has been fighting against the TRS (now BRS) and exposing the misdeeds of KCR and his family members.

It may be recalled that she had applied for the MLA ticket from Karimnagar assembly segment recently. On Saturday, Ramya Rao had submitted her application seeking party ticket from the Karimnagar parliament constituency in the ensuing elections and assured the elections and give it as a gift to Sonia Gandhi, who carved out separate Telangana state.

Ramya Rao is daughter of KCR’s elder brother Kalvakuntla Ranga Rao. Since the advent of TRS in April 2001, TRS founder president K Chandrashekhar Rao took shelter at the residence of Ramya Rao in Karimnagar. Even after becoming Karimnagar MP in 2004 and subsequently the Union Minister, he used to frequently visit Karimnagar town and stayed only at the residence of Ramya Rao in Karimnagar town. However, Ramya Rao and KCR and his family members turned into bete norie for the reasons better known to them.

Later, after the formation of Telangana state, Ramya Rao had joined the Congress party in the presence of Sonia Gandhi. On the other hand, Velichala Rajendar Rao, son of former legislator and MLC and senior Congress leader V Jagapathi Rao, also applied for the Congress party ticket from Karimnagar parliament constituency.
