
ABU DHABI, JUNE 01, 2025: The Telangana Friends Association, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, celebrated the 11th Telangana Formation Day in a grand and culturally rich event held at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
The celebration brought together members of the Telugu community, highlighting Telangana’s vibrant history, cultural pride, and heritage. The event served as a platform to reflect on the state’s progress since its formation in 2014 and to showcase its unique traditions.

The Consular of Abu Dhabi, Mr Premchand, attended the event as the chief guest. In his address, he expressed happiness over participating in the celebrations and reaffirmed the Indian Embassy’s commitment to supporting the welfare of Indian nationals in the UAE. He also urged attendees to pay close attention to passport and visa requirements to avoid travel-related difficulties.
A series of captivating performances enthralled the audience. Globally recognised Gussadi dance performers Kathle Anand Rao, Sridhar, Angadi Bhaskar, and Chowdarapally Ravikumar presented traditional tribal dances, while a group of Perini Shiva Tandavam artists—Thota Prashanth, Perumandla Santhosh, Gajjala Ranjith Kumar, and Dharavath Rajkumar—delivered powerful renditions of the ancient warrior dance.
Adding to the festive spirit were energetic Dappu and Pothuraju dance, Folk songs by Korepu Mallesh, Sai Sanjana, Kaveesh Aitha, Abhiram Challuri, dance performance by Varshini, and Akshara performances, which stood out as highlights of the evening.
The event was meticulously coordinated by the Telangana Friends Association’s executive committee members, including Aitha Raja Srinivas Rao, Jagadish, Gopinath and Harinath Mallela, Vamshikrishna Challuri, Srinivas Reddy Ittireddy, Srinivasreddy, P Gangareddy Donga, Birudu, and Ashok, among others.
The celebrations not only fostered a sense of community among the Telangana diaspora but also served as a cultural bridge between India and the UAE.
