Ponnam Prabhakar launches ‘Deeksha’ flaying BJP for failing to fulfill promises made during last 10 years

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 14, 2024: Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has launched a day-long deeksha (protest programme) at the Congress party office in Karimnagar town on Sunday in protest against the BJP and BRS for failing to fulfill the promises made to the people of the Telangana state.

He launched the deeksha by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Dr BR Ambedkar. Manakondur legislator and DCC president Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Vemulawada legislator and government whip Adi Srinivas, Choppadandi legislator Medipalli Satyam and others also joined the deeksha.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Prabhakar asked BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar and BRS leader K Taraka Rama Rao about why they had failed to fulfill the promises made to the people during the last 10 years. “We came to power only four months ago and already fulfilled few promises and taking measures to fulfill all the promises”, he reiterated.

He alleged that the BJP had cheated the people by promising to deposit Rs 15 lakhs in each individual citizen’s bank account of the country by bring out ‘black money’. Alleging that the BJP had bought anti-farmers bills and suppressed the farmers’ agitations, he said that the BJP was now shedding crocodile tears for the welfare of the farmers. He also charged that the BJP had betrayed the unemployed youth by failing to fulfill the promise of two crore jobs every year.

Flaying the Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar for remaining as a mute spectator in the parliament when Prime Minister Narendra Modi insulted Telangana martyrs, he also said that the BJP government had failed to fulfill the promises made in the AP States Reorganisaction Act. He charged that the BJP alone had imposed 12 per cent GST on textile industry.

Claiming that he had secured FM radio station, Train to Tirupati, regional passport office, Kendriya vidyalayams, Model schools and more, he asked what the Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay had bought to the people of Karimnagar parliament constituency. He alleged that the BJP high command had removed Bandi Sanjay from BJP state president post for allegations on corruption charges.

He alleged that the BJP leader had not secured single paise for the development of ancient temples such as Vemulawada, Kondagattu, Dharmapuri, Kaleshwaram in the integrated Karimnagar district.  District Congress incharge Narsimha Reddy, party leaders Purumalla Srinivas, former legislators Arepalli Mohan and Konduru Satyanarayana Goud, PCC secretary V Anjan Kumar, City Congress president K Narender Reddy and others were also present.
