People of the town urge MCK authorities to launch special drive to remove all encroachments in entire Karimnagar town
MCK should focus on removal of encroachments of footpaths of its own shopping complex at MCK office in Karimnagar
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 13, 2024: Following a complaint lodged by the all the Unions and Association of BSNL Karimnagar district unit to remove the encroachments around the Telephone bhavan in the heart of Karimnagar town, the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) authorities have swung into action and removed all the encroachments around the Telephone bhavan on Thursday evening.
The Town planning officials have arrived with their municipal staff and removed all the encroachments such as hotels, street vendors and others amid protests by the hawkers. They also auto-stand from the vicinity. In a complaint lodged with MCK commissioner B Srinivas, the BSNL employees stated that due to encroachment of footpaths and roads by hawkers, the fire tender could not enter into the premises to extinguish fire and caused extensive loss to the precious equipment of the Telephone department.
Appreciating the MCK officials for the removal of the encroachments of footpaths at the vicinity of the Telephone bhavan, the people of the town including the Lok Satta udyama samstha has urged the MCK to continue the drive against the illegal encroachment of footpaths and roads by the shoppers and street-vendors in entire Karimnagar town in general and Tower circle area in particular. They also suggested the MCK authorities to remove the encroachments of footpaths from their own shopping complex surrounding MCK office in the heart of town.
Flaying the municipal authorities for not having a main vegetable market in the town and forcing the vendors to sell their products on the roads throughout the year, the Lok Satta leaders suggested the MCK authorities to relocate all the street vendors to the Rythu bazaar and other vegetable markets constructed as part of Smart City.
