BRS and BJP cheated the Gulf workers, allege TPCC NRI cell leaders

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy committed to implement the promises made to Gulf Immigrants. The CM would visit Dubai to personally interact with the migrants

HYDERABAD, TPCC NRI cell chairman Dr B.M. Vinod Kumar has alleged that the BRS government in Telangana and the BJP government at the Centre have cheated the Gulf workers for the last ten years by not fulfilling the promises made for the welfare of the Gulf immigrants.

Talking to newsmen at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Tuesday, he said that the Congress government which came to power in Telangana on December 7, 2023 had already started implementing the promises made to the Gulf workers within a hundred days. Anil Eravatry, former MLA, said that the ex gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of migrant workers who died in the Gulf countries has been started recently in Vemulawada. He said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would soon visit Dubai and interact with the Gulf migrants.

TPCC NRI Cell Gulf convener Singireddy Naresh Reddy alleged that BRS party committed a serious betrayal of trust by not giving ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakh to the families of Gulf victims, not allocating a budget of Rs.500 crore for the welfare of Gulf workers, not announcing a comprehensive NRI policy, and not setting up a welfare board for Gulf workers. He charged that KCR, KTR and Kavitha have failed to fulfill their promises to the Gulf workers.

Modi visited the six Arab Gulf countries several times, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain in the capacity of the Prime Minister. Most of the bilateral agreements between India and the Gulf countries are trade agreements only. He said that the social security and welfare of the Gulf migrant workers were not taken seriously and included in the agreements.

KCR and Modi encashed the Covid crisis

The poor migrant workers from the Gulf countries have suffered during the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis because the Modi government has charged double and triple the air fares from our citizens who came to India from abroad in Vande Bharat flights and chartered flights. TPCC NRI Cell Convenor Bheem Reddy Mandha criticized that the KCR government forcibly collected money from the poor workers who returned from the Gulf countries due to the Corona epidemic in the name of quarantine charges.

Migrant workers rushed back to the country due to Covida were not given legal aid to get their end of service benefits from their employers in the Gulf countries. Bheem Reddy appealed to the families of the Gulf workers to teach a lesson to KCR and Modi, who forgot humanity and encashed the Corona crisis.

Bheem Reddy Mandha said that family members of Gulf workers and Gulf returnees have distanced themselves from BRS and BJP due to their anti-migrant stand. The Gulf vote bank in Telangana is leaning towards the Congress in the ‘Gulf Migration Corridor’ within seven Lok Sabha constituencies of Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Peddapalli, Zaheerabad, Medak and Warangal.
