JAGTIAL, MARCH 04, 2024: Women Empowerment Cell and NSS units of Government Degree College for Women, Jagtial, in Association with Department of Women development and Child Welfare organised an awareness programme on women empowerment and child abuse at seminar hall on the college premises on Mondya.
Ashwini, District Mission Coordinator, sensitized the girl students about POSCO Act, Child Justice Act, 2025 and legal rights of children. She also educated the women’s rights and called upon the students to excel in all fields.
Sakhi, one stop centre, legal counselor Lavanya, empowered the students on legal remedies for any atrocities against women.Rajitha and Gautami, social worker and gender specialist, informed that the exploitation or sexual abuse of children could be reported by dialing child helpine number 1098. Incharge principal Masroor Sultana, IQAC coordinator Harjoth Kaur, WEC coordinator T Swaroopa Rani, NSS programme officers P Tirupathi and V Jamuna and others were also present.
