HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 01, 2026: A 15-member media delegation from Uttarakhand, led by Shri Sanjeev Sundriyal, Assistant Director PIB Dehradun, is on a Hyderabad Press Tour from 31 August to 4 September 2026. The tour is aimed at providing journalists with first-hand exposure to key development activities & initiatives of the Central Government in Telangana.
As part of the tour, on the first day the delegation visited the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, and interacted with Smt Shruti Patil, ADG, PIB Hyderabad, Dr Manas Krishnakanth, Joint Director, PIB Hyderabad, and other officials.
During the interaction, Smt Shruti Patil briefed the delegation on the evolving media landscape in Telangana and the publicity, communication and outreach activities undertaken by Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) to disseminate information on Government policies, programmes and flagship initiatives. Further, she highlighted the importance of journalists’ participation in PIB programmes and press tours in facilitating development-oriented .She also encouraged the journalists to share their experiences from the Hyderabad Press Tour with the people of Uttarakhand, contributing to greater awareness about Telangana.
Earlier, the delegation visited the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The journalists were briefed on India’s capabilities in ocean information services, including ocean monitoring, the Tsunami Early Warning System, forecasting and dissemination of alerts.
During the remaining days of the tour, the delegation is scheduled to visit the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and an ESIC Hospital under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The visits will provide insights into nutrition research, public health interventions and healthcare services under the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme.
The delegation will also visit an exhibition showcasing Telangana’s handlooms and handicrafts under the Ministry of Textiles. The visit will provide an opportunity to understand the State’s traditional crafts and the role of the sector in supporting artisans.
As part of the cultural itinerary, the delegation will visit the Salar Jung Museum, Charminar and Laad Bazaar to gain an understanding of Hyderabad’s rich cultural and historical legacy. The tour will continue until 4 September 2026, covering various Central Government institutions and cultural landmarks.
The visit is intended to provide journalists with first-hand insights into key development initiatives of the Central Government in Telangana while highlighting Hyderabad’s rich cultural heritage and historical legacy.
