KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09, 2024: Ponnam Sathaiah Goud memorial awards for the year 2024 have been conferred to Oscar award winner and lyricist Chandrabose, Balagam film fame Komuramma and Mogiliaah.
The awards will be presented at Ravindra Bharathi on September 13, the death anniversary of Ponnam Sathaiah Goud. The organisers will provide a cash prize of Rs 51,000, a citation and felicitations with a shawl. Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Excise Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar and others will attend the programme.
It may be recalled that Ponnam Sathaiah Goud memorial awards have been instituted in memory of Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar’s father and providing awards to eminent personalities in the field of literature and arts.
Trust jury including its convenor Ponnam Ravichandra, members legal expert and former Information Commissioner Madabushi Sridhar, senior journalist P Dileep Reddy, Director of Language and Culture Department, Mamidi Harikrishna and writer Ainampudi Sri Laxmi selected awardees.
The first Ponnam Sathaiah Goud memorial awards were presented to Naleshwaram Shankar in the literary field and Dharmaiah in folk arts and the second award was Nelimala Bhaskar in the literary field and Vimalakka in the folk singer sector.
