KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 30, 2024: The Traditional Oggudolo and and Bonalu kolatam artists from Tadijerri village of Gangadhara mandal have captivated the audience with their colourful and scintillating performance at ‘Nruthya Sangam’ 2024, the national folk, tribal and traditional festival, in Odisha state.
Mallikarjuna Oggukala Seva Samithi, Tadijerri village, under the supervision of Erla Mahipal, the Oggudolo and bonala kolatam team from the village participated in the Nruthya Sangham-2024 on Friday evening. During the show itself, they had mesmerized the gathering with their synchronized dance form. The festival would be conducted till December 1, 2024.
On this occasion, Erla Mahipal thanked Mamidi Harikrishna, Director Department of Language and Culture, for giving an opportunity to perform at the national level. Artists Gunta Mahender, Era Ganesh, Gaddam Ramu, Guta Ganga Shankar, Myakala Prashanth, Srikanth, Pole Anil, Madhu, Komuraiah, Sumanth, Srikar, Sriram Lasya, Sambu Anitha, Erla Kanukamma, Egurla Malleshwari, Mutha Padma, Pulla Laxmi, Buthchamma, Swapna, Rajani, Anjaimma and others were also present.
It may be recalled that Erla Mahipal had imparted 15-day training to womenfolk on Bonalu kolatam in the village under the guidance of Department of Language and Culture in the month of October this year. He has embarked upon an ambitious task of preservation of ancient art and promotion of the traditional art to the present younger generation.
