Lions in service of victims of natural calamities

MAHABUBAD, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024; “Lions Club has always been in the forefront in rendering service to the people in need, particularly in the times of natural calamities,” said Lions 320F District Governor Kunduru Venkat Reddy.

Participating in a programme organized by the Lions Clubs International Foundation, Lion Kunduru Venkat Reddy handed over special kits worth Rs 9 lakh that included grocery items and clothes to more than 500 flood victims in Ravirala, Balini Dharmaram, Dubbatanda, Mahbubabad, Mattigadda Tanda areas of Mahabubabad district on Wednesday.

Kunduru Venkat Reddy recalled that LCIF had been contributing a lot to the flood victims for the last four years and added that they had conducted special camps for the treatment of eye diseases and distribution of food items during Corona.  Stating that 50 bicycles and 50 sewing kits were given to the girls of government schools last month, Venkat Reddy exhorted the people to render social service.

Deputy District Governors Dr. Chandrasekhar Arya, Narahari Sudhakar Reddy, former Lions Governors Lakshmi Narasimha Rao, Revuri Ramana Reddy, Tummeti Venkat Reddy, Putta Harikishan Reddy, Sharada, Subhash, Region Chairman Ramasahayam Venkat Reddy, Peddi Revathi, Zone Chairman Ravichander Reddy, Presidents of Sridevi’s various clubs, Vanishree, Jayashree, Vani, Murali, Naveen, Cabinet leaders Anumandla Venkateswarlu, Yarramreddy Ranga Reddy, Keshav Rao, Prasad, Nagavani, Shailaja and others participated in the event, according to Lions district PRO Katanguru Ramgopal Reddy.
