DMHO visits PHCs, calls for vigilance against seasonal diseases in Rajanna-Sircilla district

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 01, 2024: District Medical and Health Officer Dr M Vasantha Rao on Sunday visited the primary health centres in Kodurupaka and Cheerlavancha villages in the Rajanna-Sircilla district.

Following the directions of Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, DMHO Dr Vasantha Rao inspected the PHCs. He urged the medical and paramedical staff to stay vigilant in light of the potential outbreak of seasonal diseases following the incessant rains. He emphasised the need to address health issues affecting children under five years and the measures to prevent the spread of diarrhoea among them. He urged parents to bring their children to the PHCs at the first sign of illness.

He highlighted the elevated risk of diseases in rural areas, especially due to the stagnation of water in the monsoons, while advising the field staff to be diligent in preventing mosquito breeding. He also pointed out the significance of maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings to prevent the spread of diseases.

About the private hospitals, the DMHO said that the private hospitals should maintain all facilities as per the Clinical Establishments Act such as toilets, drinking water, display of employees’ details etc. He also said that the hospital should be maintained by the person on whom it was registered. He aslo directed the private hospitals to send details of the patients being admitted due to viral fevers and dengue fevers to the office of DMHO every day.
