BHEL signs pact with Singareni for setting up 800 MWs of supercritical thermal power plant in Jaipur

HYDERABAD, MARCH 11, 2025: Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed a pact with Singareni Collieries Company Limited to set up an 800 MW supercritical thermal power plant at the 1200 MW Singareni Super Thermal power station in Jaipur, Mancherial district.

SCCL chairman and managing director N Balaram, Directors D Satyanarayana Rao, Venkateshwarlu, LV Suryanarayana, ED (coal movement) SDM Subhani, Singareni electricity authorities, BHEL head Parthasarathi Das, and general manager Jogesh Gulati signed the pact on Monday evening.

On this occasion, the SCCL C&MD informed the BHEL authorities to complete the project within 40 months instead of the scheduled 48 months. BHEL head Parthasarathi said that BHEL had earlier established a 1200 MW power plant in Jaipur and assured to start the works as soon as possible and complete the project work in record time. After completion, the 800 MW power project would earn a profit of Rs 300 crore annually to Singareni.

The BHEL work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning, along with civil works. The scope also includes supplying highly efficient, state-of-the-art equipment for emission control. They were also entrusted upon BHEL for the Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) scope.

The BHEL completed the Singareni thermal power project in 2016 and helped the company earn profits of Rs 450 crore annually. The 1200 MWs plant had generated 70,0000 million units of power. It had won several national awards for generation power at high Plant load factors.
