HYDERABAD, NOVEMBER 09, 2024: New Government Degree College for Women, Golconda, Hyderabad, celebrated World Urdu Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir Mohammad Iqbal widely recognized as Allama Iqbal, a renowned poet and philosopher, on Saturday.
Under the guidance of Principal T Sree Lakshmi, Urdu HoD Humera Syed, the celebrations were conducted grandly. GDC Zaheerabad principal Aslam Farooqi participated as chief guest. On this occasion, the college conducted various competitions for elocution, essay writing, story writing, poetry writing and others.
The winners of various competitions include; Elocution competitions; Shaika Rubina (BSc first year) and Pasha B Zeba (B Com final year). Just a Minute: Sakina Bee (BA first year) and Shifa Sultana (B Com first year).
Essay Writing: Sania Muskan (BA) and Rubia Begum (B Com). Story Writing: Mohammedi Sultana (B Com) and Zeba Fatima (B Com first year). Poetry writing: Sahika Rubina (BSc first year) and Muskan Begum (BSc).
Baith Baazi: Sakina Bee and Iram Tabassum and Arfa Mahim and Sidra Arif. Sher Jodiya: Sidra Arif (B Com first year) and Shaika Rubina (BSc first year).
