CM Revanth Reddy addressed a public meeting in Kodangal today.
KODANGAL, MAY 08, 2026: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy affirmed that the Telangana State is being placed in the top position in development with the support of all. The Chief Minister said that he has been working for at least 18 hours a day to achieve the goals set by the People’s Government for the robust growth of the Telangana State.
Addressing a public meeting after laying foundation stones for Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and other development works on Friday, the Chief Minister said that Telangana was witnessing fast-track development.
Highlighting the development programmes taken up in his Kodangal Assembly Constituency, the CM said that educational institutions, including Medical and Engineering colleges, an ATC Centre, a Nursing College, a Polytechnic, and a Sainik School, are being established in Kodangal.The development of this educational hub will be completed within a year and a half. Steps are being taken to ensure that students from across the state come to Kodangal for higher education.
Thanking Kodangal people for their blessings to attain the CM position, CM Revanth Reddy declared that Kodangal will be transformed into a role model for the entire country. We are establishing an industrial park spanning 2,300 acres at Lagacherla and constructing a major roadway connecting the airport directly to Kodangal. 90 per cent of the Vikarabad railway line was already completed and the construction of a cement industry will commence within the next six months, to provide local employment and livelihood opportunities. India’s leading industries are setting up their units in Kodangal.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to complete all development works in Kodangal by December 2027 and appealed to all local body representatives to strive for development of their villages by setting aside political differences. “Let us transform Kodangal into a land of gold piece”
On the irrigation front, the CM instructed the officials to complete the Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme within a year and a half to bring the waters of the Krishna River to the region. The lands of Kodangal must be irrigated by the Krishna river. State minister V Srihari was entrusted with the responsibility of land acquisition for Narayanpet-Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme within a month. CM Revanth Reddy assured that funds will be sanctioned and that all hurdles in the completion of the lift project.
The Chief Minister recalled the plight of the Kodangal people. In the past, residents of Kodangal had to travel to neighboring Vikarabad or Pargi to pursue their education. Now, We are undertaking extensive initiatives to ensure access to education and healthcare for the poor. The CM explained the geographical challenges for Kodangal development.
Kodangal is situated in one of the highest-altitude regions of the state. Consequently, there was virtually no possibility of accessing water resources. Conditions were such that cultivating paddy was impossible and nothing would grow here except for red gram. The people of Kodangal were also innocent and unable to even construct their own Indiramma houses. Today, we have successfully constructed roads connecting every thanda and Gram Panchayat.
CM Revanth Reddy also remembered Kodangal people’s support to him during 2019 Lok Sabha elections and their help to win as MP from the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha segment. ” The sapling you planted in 2009 has now grown into a mighty tree. It is now your responsibility to protect and nurture it. With the blessings of the people, I have assumed the office of Chief Minister of Telangana”.
Further, the Chief Minister listed numerous welfare schemes—such as farm loan waivers, provision of fine-quality rice, Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma housing, ration cards, and fee reimbursement implemented by the Telangana government.
CM Revanth Reddy also highlighted the spiritual activities in Kodangal. Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kodangal is renowned as the “Tirupati of the Poor,” serving not only the people of Telangana but also those from neighboring Karnataka and Maharashtra.
The CM said that the Kodangal Assembly constituency represents a unique duality – on one side stands the ‘Gudi’ (the Temple), and on the other, the ‘Gadi’ (the Seat of Power).
The Temple and the Seat of Power have united to propel Kodangal forward, transforming it into a land flourishing with bountiful crops and prosperity.
CM Revanth Reddy recounted former MLA Nandaram Suryanarayana played a pivotal role in the development of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by securing funds from the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams). Today, we performed the groundbreaking ceremony at the auspicious time (Muhurtham) suggested by Agama Shastra advisor, Sundaravaradacharyulu.
The Chief Minister proposed to name Sundaravaradacharyulu after one of the pilgrim guest houses. The rituals performed at the Kodangal temple should strictly adhere to the same traditions followed at Tirupati.We are constructing a Venkateswara Swamy temple in Doulthabad and a Venugopala Swamy temple in Kosgi.
