Women voters outnumber men in Karimnagar parliament constituency

KARIMNAGAR, APRIL 19, 2024: Women voters outnumber men voters in the Karimnagar parliament constituency. Out of a total of 17,91,970 voters, the women constitute 9,16,820 voters and the men voters are 8,75,048 voters.

There are around 54,729 voters who have crossed 85 and above years in the constituency and for them Home voting would be conducted.

Disclosing this to newsmen in Karimnagar town on Friday, Returning Officer and Karimnagar Collector Pamela Satpathy said that the election would be conducted in a total of 2194 polling stations in the seven assembly segments. She said that they had issued form 12D for all the people who have crossed 85 years and above including physically challenged persons. The last date for receipt of form 12D is April 23.

The first visit of Home voting would be conducted from May 3 to 6 and the second round would be completed by May 8. The election authorities have deployed a total of 1279 polling officers, 1304 assistant polling officers, 2656 OPOs and 184 MOs comprising a total of 5423.

The voters turnout for the Karimnagar parliament elections in 2019 was 69.49 per cent, she said and added that the polling percentage was 74.58 per cent during the assembly elections in 2023. She said that they were taking all measures to increase the polling percentage by launching extensive awareness campaigns. The Collector said that the live webcasting will be done inside all the 288 critical polling stations and outside 154 polling stations.

The Collector also informed the people to lodge any complaints with regard to violation of election expenditure with the Election Observer Aswini Kumar Pandey by dialing 9032659531. She said that the election observer would be camping in Karimnagar till the completion of entire election process.
