KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 05, 2025: Telangana Cultural Council chairperson G Vennala, who is also the daughter of balladeer Gaddar, has stressed the need to produce the films which would guide the future generation to follow the right path and protect their country and strive for its progress.
Expressing concern over some cinemas encouraging more violence and unethical acts in the movies, she said that the movies should bring an attitudinal change for the betterment of society and inspire the present generation to help serve the country.
Dr Vennela participated as chief guest at the state-level short film organised by the Karimnagar Film Society in association with the Telangana Language and Culture department at Film Bhavan in Karimnagar town on Saturday night. She distributed prizes to the winners of various short films and cash rewards. She also captivated the audience by rendering her voice for a song of a balladeer.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Vennela said that film-makers should do research before making a film and ensure that the movies do not mislead the present generation, especially the children with the content. She also favoured the production of movies on Telangana history and culture. She also stressed the need for the strengthening of Telangana film society for the benefit of future generations. She said that the Telangana film industry should take inspiration from Dada Saheb Phalke Awardee Paidi Jairaj, who was born in Karimnagar and rose to the top of Indian cinema and spread the glory of Telangana at the national level.
Collector Pamela Satpathy stressed the need to produce message-oriented films and short films. Assuring support for the short-film makers for the promotion of the government welfare schemes, she said that the school students were also producing message-oriented films.
On this occasion, the speakers stressed the need to install the statue of Dada Saheb Phalke awardee Paidi Jairaj in Karimnagar town. Additional Collector Praful Desai, Telangana Language and Culture director Mamidi Harikrishna, Mahatma Jyothibha Phule schools joint director GV Shyam Prasad Lal, Karimnagar film society president Ponnam Ravichandra, secretary Lakshmi Goutham, jury members Malla Reddy, Shivotham, Akshara Kumar, film society members G Nagabushanam, PS Ravindra, Madishetty Gopal, Annavaram Devender, Ashok and others were also present.
