Velichala Jagapathi Rao statehood movement issues questions in TGSPSC Group -2 exams

KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 16, 2024: Telangana Protagonist, former MLA and MLC and eminent academician Velichala Jagapathi Rao was figured in the Telangana State Public Service Examinations (TGSPSC) Group-2 examinations on Monday.

Then TGPSC asked questions about Velichala Jagapathi Rao on the Group-2 fourth paper. In the 55th question, the TGPSC asked under whose aegis was the Telangana Legislators Forum and in the 52nd question it asked to consider the following statements regarding Velichala Rajender Rao.

It may be recalled that the former MLA Velichala Jagapathi Rao played a crucial role during the statement movement and formed the Telangana Legislators Forum as its convenor and Jana Reddy as its chairman in the year 1992. During the period,  he had submitted a memorandum to then  Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao with the signatures of 92 MLAs for the carving out of a separate Telangana state.

Mr Jagapathi Rao also played a crucial role in 1989 by conducting a three-day convention for the formation of Telangana state. On this occasion, the Karimnagar parliament constituency Congress party in charge and son of Jagapathi Rao, Velichala Rajender Rao thanked the TGPSC for recollecting the services of Mr Jagapati Rao for the statehood movement.
