
HANAMKONDA, SEPTEMBER 09, 2026: Vaagdevi Degree & P.G. College (Autonomous), Hanamkonda, in association with the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH), successfully organised a Scholarship and Mentorship Programme for Women in STEM Education and Careers on Wednesday.
The programme was organised by IQAC and IIC with the objective of encouraging young women to pursue higher education, research, innovation, and careers in STEM fields.
The keynote address was delivered by Ms. S. Neeraja, Lead – Data Management and CSR Partnerships, RICH, who enlightened the participants on scholarship opportunities, mentorship programmes, research, innovation, and career prospects in STEM. She motivated students to enhance their skills, pursue higher education, and actively engage in research and innovation initiatives.
More than 100 students enthusiastically participated in the programme and benefited from valuable insights into scholarships, mentorship, career planning, networking opportunities, industry-academia collaboration, and entrepreneurship, empowering them to build successful careers in STEM.

The College Management appreciated the initiative and reiterated its commitment to promoting women empowerment through quality education and career-oriented programmes. Principal A. Sheshachalam and Vice Principal P. Harinder Reddy encouraged students to make the best use of such opportunities for their academic and professional growth.
The programme was organised under the guidance of Rajaprasad, IQAC Coordinator, and coordinated by K. Himabindu, Coordinator, Women Empowerment Cell. G. Vikram, Dean of Life Sciences, Heads of the Departments, and faculty members actively participated in the programme and extended their support, contributing to its grand success.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, the Management, and all the participants for making the event highly informative and successful.
