KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09, 2026: Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women in Karimnagar celebrated Telangana Language Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Telangana icon and people’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on Wednesday.
On the occasion, Principal T Malathi and others paid floral tributes to the portrait of Kaloji Narayana Rao. Assistant Professor Mrs Naroju Venkataramana, who attended the programme as the guest speaker, delivered a special lecture on Kaloji’s life and literary contributions. She analysed the social, political and economic issues reflected in Kaloji’s famous work ‘Naa Godava’. She explained Kaloji’s vision that language should be the language of the people and highlighted the uniqueness of the Telangana dialect and the scientific significance behind various words, making the session interesting and informative for the students. She also introduced the students to Kaloji’s powerful voice of dissent.
Telugu Department Head Erroju Venkateshwarlu spoke about Kaloji’s revolutionary journey, his contribution to literature and the honours and titles he received. He also rendered and explained some of Kaloji’s notable poems, including Anya Bhashalu Nerchi Andhraambu Raadanchu…, to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal T. Malathisaid said that Kaloji’s life was highly inspiring and encouraged the students to follow the values and path shown by him. Vice-Principal S. Padmaja, Telugu Department faculty Kavitha and Renuka, IQAC Coordinator G. Samatha, K.Geetha Rani, M.Radhika, M.Kalyani, and students participated in the programme.
